Springvale Marks VE Day with Garden Celebrations!

Springvale Care Home in Lennoxtown recently hosted a vibrant and meaningful garden party to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day - Victory in Europe Day - which commemorates the end of World War II in Europe on 8 May 1945.

To honour this historic occasion, residents, staff, families, and local community members gathered for a sunny afternoon BBQ in our garden, complete with live entertainment, a bar, and delicious food straight from the grill. The atmosphere was filled with music, laughter, and heartfelt stories as everyone came together to reflect and celebrate.

Many residents took the opportunity to reminisce about wartime Britain, sharing their memories with family and our team here. Some even brought along wartime souvenirs and keepsakes, which sparked meaningful conversations and helped bring the past to life for all in attendance.

The event was a wonderful way to honour the resilience and sacrifices of the wartime generation, while also giving residents the chance to spend quality time with loved ones and engage with the wider community.
