Nursing Care

Springvale Care Home in the charming town of Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire has beautiful surroundings and provides residents with the assurance of professional nursing care, while still keeping their independence. We believe every resident should be given the opportunity to live an enriched and independent life in a supportive and versatile environment.

Our approach is more than meeting healthcare needs, it’s about caring for the health, wellbeing and interests of our residents as a whole, working closely with our residents and their families to create a detailed and bespoke care plan and appoint a named nurse or key worker to ensure consistency of care. We pride ourselves on the standards of care delivered by our highly trained and motivated team. Quality, person-centred care is at the heart of Springvale. Our highly qualified team is experienced at identifying when nursing care is the right option for you or your loved one.

What is Nursing Care?

Nursing care is for those who require around-the-clock, medical and personal care. It is most appropriate for individuals who require intensive rehabilitative care, those with physical disabilities and people who have long-term health issues, ultimately supporting medical, as well as personal living needs.

Residents receiving nursing care will have complete access to on-site assistance from nursing professionals, making us an excellent choice for local people who have complex medical conditions or illnesses that need specialist care and support each day.

At our nursing home in East Dunbartonshire, we provide 24 hour nursing care for our residents. Our experienced team enables us to look after those with physical disabilities, those who need palliative care or those with higher dependency needs, as well as those who become infirm.

Those with advanced dementia may require nursing dementia care or specialist dementia care, and we can provide the right care for those in the later stages.

Each resident will be allocated a nurse who will become a friendly, familiar face and will answer any queries or concerns you or your relatives may have.

Nursing Care FAQs

The type of nursing care received can vary depending on the needs of the individual. However, at Springvale Care Home, we are able to provide a range of different nursing services from medication management and wound care, to assistance with activities of daily living and support with physical disabilities, mental health conditions and sensory impairment. We also coordinate our care with other healthcare providers and ensure that our residents are always receiving the right care for them to maintain their health and wellbeing.

It might be time to consider nursing care when you notice any of the below:

  • Worsening chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, or dementia
  • Difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Recent falls, injuries, hospitalisations or emergency room visits
  • Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
  • Increased confusion or forgetfulness
  • Difficulty managing medications or complying with treatment plans
  • Need for specialised medical equipment or care, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Our nursing team will assess the level of care that is required and can provide advice on the most appropriate type of care for you or your loved one. It is important when making the decision to go into a care home to communicate openly with your loved ones and ensure that the person needing care is involved in the decision-making process as much as possible.

Springvale Care Home takes the responsibility of ensuring the safety of its residents very seriously. We achieve this by ensuring adequate staffing levels are provided, that our nursing staff is properly trained and qualified, protocols for infection control and medication management are implemented, and regular safety audits and assessments are conducted. We also put the relevant security measures in place to prevent restricted access and to protect the safety of our residents.

At Springvale Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
