Photography Group Get Moving

Our Walking Group at Springvale Care Home has been making the most of the opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful local surroundings and sunny weather.
Recent walks have taken our residents through some of Lennoxtown's natural areas, with views across the park and lakeside. Along the way, there has been plenty to see, from ducks and birds to the changing scenery around us. The walks have been a great opportunity for the residents to enjoy some fresh air, take in the views and most importantly, spend some time together.

At Springvale Care Home, staying active is important to us. As we grow older, even a gentle walk can provide an opportunity to get moving, maintain wellbeing and enjoy the outdoors. Our walks are adapted to suit our residents, allowing everyone to take part at their own pace and enjoy the experience.
The social side of our Walking Group is just as important to us. Walking together gives residents the chance to chat, catch up, share stories and enjoy each other's company. It's also a great way for our residents to build friendships and encourage conversation, especially those who have struggled with isolation and loneliness.
Our Photography group has also been getting involved too, capturing photographs of wildlife, scenery and the changing seasons. Combining our two groups together has encouraged residents to take up new hobbies, learn more about others and take notice of the world around them

Whether it is spotting a beautiful view, seeing the local wildlife play or watching the leaves begin to fall of the trees, our walks are about more than getting from one place to another. They are about staying active, being social, getting involved in new activities and creating meaningful moments.
