Arts & Crafts Aplenty

The activities team at Springvale Care Home pride themselves on offering a wide of activities for all our residents to join in with and our Arts & Crafts sessions are always popular with our residents.

Recently we’ve enjoyed painting seaside scenes of golden beaches and palm trees swaying and reminiscing about holidays home and abroad.  The sessions were led by our talented activity team who provided step by step instructions on how to build up the pictures using a variety of paints and textures and which has resulted in some stunning pieces of artwork that are now displayed around the home.

We’ve also enjoyed some needlework whereby we made some lavender bags which now take pride of place in our residents bedrooms.  Not only do they smell amazing but they are also known to have many health benefits such as improving sleep, reducing heart and blood pressure and promoting positive mental health. 

As we move towards the Autumn season the activity team is busy planning lots of new and exciting arts and crafts sessions for 1:1 and group involvement.
