Christmas Decorations at Springvale

Christmas Has Come Early at Springvale

Residents of Springvale Care Home love this time of year, a time when the festive activities are in full swing. There are a plethora of Christmas themed activities that our residents jump at the chance at throughout November and December. In the past, residents have made wreaths and Christmas cards, as also enjoyed excursions organised by our Activity Coordinators.

The residents and team just love everything about Christmas and were disappointed when the Glasgow Christmas market and lights were cancelled but that didn’t stop them from starting to create their own Winter Wonderland at the Lennoxtown care home for the residents and team to enjoy.

On November 4th the team sprung into action and started to decorate the Reception and Café area of the home and now have big plans to create a Winter Wonderland light display in the gardens and are seeking support from the local community for external decorations which will bring so much joy to the residents. The Deputy Manager took one of our lovely residents on a shopping trip in Bishopbriggs to help pick up a trolly full of festive decorations.

This year has continued to be a difficult time for everyone but that has far from squashed the Christmas spirit from the team who have announced that they will be a drop off point for the local community for donations of children’s toys and food items. These invaluable items that will truly make a difference will be distributed to the local people through the group Help for Struggling Families who work in conjunction wit Help The Homeless Glasgow.

If you would like to help the team at Springvale Care Home with donations of garden Christmas decorations or to donate children’s toys and food items do get in contact Victor or Stephanie at the home.
