Residents are given an abundance of opportunity to make the most of every day here at Springvale Care Home; residents can find enjoyment in many, or all of the activities on offer. Whether you wish to explore our beautiful gardens, socialise with friends and family, enjoy arts and crafts sessions or explore the wonderful surroundings of Springvale Care Home and stunning views of the Campsie Fells, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.

Our dedicated Activity Coordinators go above and beyond to create a weekly program that is bursting with activities and games that are guaranteed to put a smile on our residents’ faces.

Fun Activities For All

At Springvale Care Home, there’s something to enjoy every day of the week. Our activities programme is packed with options such as cinema and movie afternoons, quiz nights, art classes, and clubs, including our gentlemen’s club, book club, and baking club. We also organise weekly outings to the library, local shops, garden centres, and even the pub for a change of scenery.

Residents have monthly meetings to share their ideas and help shape the activities calendar, so there’s always something on offer that reflects their interests. We use our cinema room and spacious communal areas for many of these activities, and families are always welcome to join in. Whether it’s a lively group event or a quiet afternoon watching a favourite film, there’s plenty of choice.

Meaningful, Personalised Engagement

Our activities team takes the time to get to know every resident as they move in, learning about their history, hobbies, and preferences so we can plan activities that feel meaningful rather than generic. For residents living with dementia, we provide tailored sessions such as sensory activities, music therapy, and hand massages, as well as 1-to-1 engagement that’s fully centred on the individual.

We’re passionate about creating opportunities for connection. Intergenerational visits, regular nursery trips, and community projects with local schools bring a wonderful energy into the home. From balloon tennis to baking, our programme is designed to support cognitive function, physical wellbeing, and happiness – ensuring that every resident has the chance to stay active, social, and fulfilled.

With a full activities and entertainment programme, in addition to regular outings and events, every day can be enjoyed by those with different interests. All of our activities are scheduled on a daily basis, ensuring that our residents never experience the same day twice.

We are delighted to offer a diverse range of activities and opportunities. From planned day trips that include shopping and leisure activities, to activities that don’t even require you to leave the comfort of your own home such as pamper days and quizzes, there’s something for everyone.

Examples of events we regularly hold at Springvale include summer garden BBQs, Halloween parties, charity events and Christmas events such as carol singing.
